Individual Stay

Vasanta Vihar, part of Krishnamurti Trust Madras (headquarters of the Krishnamurti Foundation India), exists for the sole purpose of enabling people to stay here to study Krishnamurti’s Teachings by using the library (The Study), or taking part in retreats and dialogues, or engaging in informal conversations or quiet reflection.

Therefore, it is expected that guests do not engage in official work outside, social get-togethers, or sight-seeing.

BOOK YOUR STAY HERE

The following guidelines need to be strictly followed:

Your presence on the campus during your stay, and punctuality at all meals, are expected.

Use cell phones only in your rooms, and not in The Study, Retreat venues, Dining Hall, and other common areas on the campus.

Clothes such as shorts or mini-skirts outside your room are considered inappropriate.

A minimum of 3 nights’ stay is expected. Guests can extend their stay if they wish to.

Kindly note the following:

* Single/Double non-AC rooms with attached bath are provided

* Guests are requested to bring their own towel and soap.

* Safeguard your passport, money and other valuables, and lock your room during your absence.

Per night cost: Rs. 750 (inclusive of taxes) per head. This includes accommodation and food. Payment can be made on arrival.

Overseas Guests: Our main gate closes at 10 p.m. and opens only by 5 am. So if you are reaching by a late-night flight, kindly stay at the airport and check in here only after 5 a.m.

Please be punctual so that you do not inconvenience the Dining Hall staff.

Getting Here:  Pre-paid taxis/Autorickshaws are available at the airport and railway stations. Ask for Greenways Road (not Greams Road). From airport (south), cross the Adyar Bridge and turn left at Andhra Mahila Sabha Hospital. From the Central and Egmore Railway Stations (north) come via Mylapore and Mandaveli.
