Note on participants:
Ven. Samdhong Rinpoche is a renowned Tibetan Buddhist philosopher and author of several books. He headed the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarnath and is a leading scholar on Buddhism, J Krishnamurti and Gandhian Thought. A close associate of the Dalai Lama, he also served as the Prime Minister of the Tibetan government in exile.
Ven. Tenzin Priyadarshi is Director of the Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology that is dedicated to inquiry, dialogue, and ethical education on the humane dimensions of life. The Center under his leadership runs programmess on ethics and transformative leadership in eight countries.
S. Gurumurthy is a chartered accountant by profession and a leading consultant on business and corporate governance. He is a writer on economic and political issues and is a strong proponent of Hindu dharma and ethical values in public life. He is an advocate of the Swadeshi model of development and is the Editor of Thuglak magazine.
Maithrim Poshas Trust was founded by Ven. Samdhong Rinpoche to nurture and spread Ahimsa through self-enquiry, mindful reflection and meditation. Based in Dharamshala, it also seeks to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities for marginalized communities.
